Mo-saiQ provided a safe haven for me to share my experiences as a young woman of color navigating my decision to major in Physics. Seeing other bright minds with backgrounds and experiences similar to my own encouraged me to take pride in my identity and strive for excellence in college. Mo-saiQ wasn’t just a program that gave me the knowledge to proactively plan my academic career and the confidence to transition to college—it also gave me a safe space to share my experiences and struggles as a woman of color in STEM. Mo-saiQ showed me the importance of having community, engaging with other STEM students of color, and never letting anyone take your passion. You never know how that same passion can be a light of inspiration for the future generations of BIPOC in STEM.
